About the Tournament

In keeping with the long tradition of excellence in Georgetown Prep Basketball, Prep is proud to host its Second Annual Fr. George National Jesuit Christmas Classic. The idea of creating the premier Jesuit basketball tournament in the country was borne from the vision of Dwayne Bryant, Prep’s Varsity Basketball coach. It has become a reality with his vision and the completion of the Hanley Center For Athletic Excellence on the Prep campus in 2006.

We welcome the players, coaches, families of our fellow Jesuit Schools and the many fans who will be treated to some fantastic high school basketball.

In the spirit of “Men for Others” and the principles of Jesuit education, the proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Fr. Horace McKenna, S.J. Scholarship Fund , a scholarship fund created by Prep to enable graduates of the Washington Jesuit Academy , located in Washington, DC and Saint Ignatius, located in Baltimore, MD to attend Georgetown Prep. Prep currently provides full assistance to six students from these two institutions.
